Clean looking install. I like the goose-neck connector.

My one knock against the 7900 is the big freq control knob. It is easy to hit and reset frequency.

I am about ready to redo my mounting with the remote kit to get the faceplate (and knob) out of the way of incidental contact.

installed.

Had to remount my Compressor and Cb Radio.

I was going to add a rotary switch for the Speaker output,
But decided to just mount another speaker for the Ham.

that gooseneck seems an excellent way to mount the head unit.

hey russ
i got a used(and cheap) adi ar-147 off ebay.
not recommending or anything, but it seems to have enough function to mabe get me on the air and figure out antennas.
once i know what i'm doing i may get a different unit... we'll see- i'm an old dog- new tricks don't come easy anymore.

thanks for the tip. i will mess around with the knob some more. it seems clear when receiving a transmission then static when transmission ends. twisting the knob has no effect.
suzi's in pieces at the moment- i hope to put her motor back in this next week- then i can get back to playing with it again.
i look forward to it.
richard
sorry -i feel like i hijacked g&r's thread.

also, here's another antenna idea i may try. i have an old firestick i've stripped down.
