My v6 1st gen has electric fan and it also has an additional switch to manual turn it on when ever needed to help cool things down.

I know with my k5 blazer the taurus fans was a great option. it fit perfectly and did an awesome job to cool things down.

The size you have sounds good. I personally am a fan of having a dual fan set up with one connected to the thermostat and the other to a switch to manually be turned on/off
