Zark,

I would strongly suggest using the 88-89 alternator from a Starion 2.6 engine. Its a drop in and was factory rated at 75 amps.

Hey Kevin, thanks for the link. I have a sneaking suspission that that is the route this alternator guy is going. doing a quick price check for new or reman alt's, they are 100+, so this is in the ballpark. I'm going to go with this guy and see how it pans out, especially if he can get me a few more amps.

Well, the alt is done. He said it was pulling 105+ amps using his 5hp tester. Al is very happy <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> I pick it up Thursday for $105.

The Taurus fan brings up an interesting question: How do I find out what the CFM and amp draw are for any given fan in a car in the JY?

for cfm, idk, but for amp draw, I was told a good rule of thumb is one amp per inch in diameter.
