So ... maybe I do have LSD!! When I punch it at a stop or around a corner left or right, my ass end try's to come around.

If I had more horsepower (I mean torque), I would be all over the place and it would be a lot more fun

Still curious though, when you get a chance Dryver please raise and spin your rear wheels since you have confirmed LSD.

Thanks

get it some snow or dirt and just jump on it then look at the tire marks both should have spon-out most likely only the right side would with open diff. the only other way is jack it up and tear it apart, drop driveshaft pull axles and pull out diff carrier and look at it, remember to drain gear oil. and if your gonna do it that way better have a lsd to put in just in case

I believe I already covered that cuz I know the typical characteristics of LSD.

I just want to see what Dryvers rear wheels do since he has a confirmed KIA LSD?

Rear wheels either spin together or opposite, this is good info for those dealing with misinformed wrecking yards.

So again ... when you have a chance Dryver, please let us know.

yea vehicle vin is what i was asking the last eight digits have something to do with it because thats what the dealer asked me for when i called. mine is going out i think got on it hard one day heard a pop and now when u let off the gas u hear a clink like u joint bad then growling sound like teeth are all most touching but not making full contact as u coast hit the gas and that sound goes away but there is alot of play when u tap the gas before u feel the power to the wheels like as if u put it in first and hit pedal let off hit again type thing u dont get that sudden burst of exceleration it is lagged due to something. im going to tear it apart and look but i think its done worn out or something broke,

Well guys, I just put mine up in the air per request. Transfer case in neutral (manual shift.. no neutral position on automatics), transmission in neutral just to be sure. Spin one wheel by hand and the other spins.... in the SAME direction. Very tightly bound together, as well.. no lag. Spin one, the other spun in the same direction immediately.

Not sure what Jay has if his is spinning opposite directions. Maybe a broken or worn out LSD?

Now the thing I found interesting is this: The neutral position on the manual transfer case is between 4H and 4L (typical). When I spun the rear wheel, the rear drive shaft spun, which I expected, but the front drive shaft spun also. That means the front and rear output of the transfer case are tied together when in neutral, but disconnected from the transmission. This must be why it's recommended to remove the rear drive shaft if you tow it for long distances.

01 Convertible; Electric Fan; 3" Up Your Kia lift spacers; Tj 104's; 31x10.5x15's on Centerlines; Rear LSD.
GONE, all I have left are a few spare parts and the wheels.
