When rebuilding take note on the crank bolt issue and the headbolts need to be checked that they don't bottom out before pulling - a big reason why many rebuilds fail. ( FrankR has been drilling this for some time now )


I told this to the guys at my local machine shop and they thought i was nuts.

i guess they just never ran into that problem yet!


so did my workshop, but after I insisted they found the clearance to be very tight.

I'll trust Frank's advice on these engines over any builder. Just have a look at his supercharger build and "bob's 3.0 build" and you will find all the details regarding the building of these engines.
