While waiting to find some manual hubs, I decided to fix my stock t-case skid plate and ended up building a new one. My old one was pretty thrashed as you can see. ![[Linked Image]](http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp156/epm131/89%20Raider%20v6/100_1942.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp156/epm131/89%20Raider%20v6/100_1943.jpg)

Looks good overall. I've thought about what to make if I ever really wheel enough to thrash the stock one. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> I have thought something similar to yours, and also with some sides to box it up, and then a drain hole or two for when it splashed up. I would also maybe "top coat" it with undercoating.

It's made from 3/16" steel and I added gussets on the on the rear part. I tried to just remake the stock one so I could use the stock bolts/holes, while trying to improve it. It is thicker, has a better approach angle and has about 1/2" extra ground clearance. I didn't spend alot of time on this and I don't really care if it looks pretty, as long as it does it job.

Looks good overall. I've thought about what to make if I ever really wheel enough to thrash the stock one. You must have never touched it on a thing. Mine you could bend by stepping on maybe even by hand. My replacement may not have as good of clearnce as the stock one but I can do bigger stuff because I can bang on it without as much fear. ![[Linked Image]](http://pics.montypics.com/tag/2009-05-16/1242483046_dscf0068.jpg)

Here's mine. Since at this point my stock skid on my 89 was a virgin so it was in good shape I re-enforced it. I used leftover stock from another project and it was not quite the right size to get complete coverage, but its way better than stock. One thing I noticed is that the auto T-Case skid is different from the Manual. ![[Linked Image]](http://gallery.me.com/zone1wst/100152/101_2213/web.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://gallery.me.com/zone1wst/100152/101_2215/web.jpg)
