That's pretty damn gross, even to me...

Cool rig, though.

Back on topic, I'm extracting the 3.0 today. Man is it a oily mess and v6's are not fun to work on, I think my new engine is really excited to be going in soon. As soon as this thing drives again i'm taking it to the carwash and degreasing the front axle

New things done; 3.0 is out and gone, the 4 cyl bellhousing is on, gas tank is out, and rear frame has been cut down. I'll post pics later of the super short frame . Got some donations to the project this week from a few friends and my shop forman . Thanks to Lordtrunks for the bodylift pucks and locked 9" 3rd, Datz510 (Nissan4Wheelers.com) for the super long ranchos, Jason (Weekend warrior customs) for the roll bar, and Mike (Fleet department foreman) for the truck tool box and steel tubing.

Only waiting on flexplate bolts and motor mounts now, the rest is labor. Hopefully i'll get the gas tank mounted this wekend but i have to do lower baljoints and 1 upper control arm on the big truck so i can get it aligned for my new tires this coming week.

Back to this project, i decided on wheels and tires. I plan on buying custom H1's with standard rock rings and 37's from Trail worthy fab <link . [Linked Image] They will be like these but black on blue and regular rock rings not flames and obviously mine will be 6 lug. I need to figure out what offset i want too, I'd like them to be the same offset as the wheels on my '99. How do i figure out the offset? I don't want to order wheels and they be a bad offset.

I think they list offset in the owners manual actually. I know I read it somewere b/c I found it funny that hte LS and SR have different offset.

Adam if memory serves, backspace is easy to find, but offset is a little harder and more obtuse. To find backspace, lay the wheel face down. Put a straight edge across the back lip and measure down to the hub mating surface. Not real sure of an easy way to find offset, though. The definition of offset is the difference of the vertical centerline of the wheel and the hub mating surface.

Here's a couple links with pics to splain it better...

Backspace measurement illustrated

Cute little article that goes with the pics

A supposed backspace/offset calculator that kinda baffled me...

Hope those help Those wheels look badass

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

putting in a 2.4L.

Here's the progress so far, frame chopped, gas tank remounted and the flatbed frame is tacked in place. The rollbar is cut down to size but one leg needs to be trimmed. I was really tired at the end of the day and goofed that one up but luckily it's long and that's easy to undo.
