Rust-O-Leum makes a primer for rusty metal that will work just fine. Being that it is just surface rust and not 'real' rust, you won't have any problems with it. Toasty.

That looks really cool. I have just one question...where did you get all the brown stuff on the bed box? I thought that wasn't available in AZ...

It's not heavy rust just a light glaze, but to give you an idea the bare steel was sitting in a friends backyard for a few years. I knew someone was gonna say something about that or the truck's rust (from Utah) don't they make special paints for rusty things? i'd like to paint my frame and stop the rust, Rust Bullet?

C'mon, dude, I wasn't being critical. Just playing around...

It really does look good!

That said, they say Rust Bullet is good stuff. I bought a bunch of it, but since I can't seem to see anything through to completion these days, I can't speak about it's quality.

I look forward to seeing where this goes.

I knew you was just joking, but i was waiting for someone to say something .

I am gonna make 2 jerry can holders recessed in the bed with a hinged lid so that they don't take up any space and are protected from thieves. I might have a little more room under the flat bed for more storage but we'll see how much room the shock tower will take up. I measured for shock mounting today, the lower shock mounts will be on the inside rear corners of the axle coil buckets and the tops will mount dead center of the truck on the shock tower.

I put more tube on yesterday but nothing pic worhty, This weekend i'll hopefully get more done and post up some pics. I'm hoping to have the rear shocks and tool box mounted. But again i have to work on my blue montero, this time i need to add a shim to the driver UCA, swap a idler, tighten wheel bearings and possibly put in my new t-case. Back to the project, the flexplate bolts and new motor mounts are in the mail. As soon as that stuff get's here i'll be really motivated to get this thing going.
