IIRC most sedan motors are transversely mounted. That also means the dipstick was on the wrong side.

I also believe the cams are for a different kind of torque curve than the montero setup but it should still work.

As for the rest, I'm sure there are probably other differences but I know others will be way more knowledgeable than I will on that info.
