If you have a 5-spd I would go w/4.88's. They are a little taller than you need for 32's, but 4.56's will be a little short for the 32's. My '90 X-cab came stock w/5-spd/4.56's and 31's, w/the 3.0 there wasn't much noticeable loss w/32's, but my mpg's did suffer a little. Given the weight of the 1st gen Runner and the less power of the 22r(e), I think the 4.88's would be a good fit. The 4.88's will also allow you to run 33's(correct tire for 4.88's and a 5-spd), if you decide you need a little bigger tire in the future.
