Yup, that's what he did. And you need a new torque converter, too, probably. Blowing the engine would have zero effect on the tranny. Tell the doofus there are 3 sock-ins on the tranny, and to measure the stinkin' extension of the flexplate past the block bellhousing surface and make sure it matches the installed depth of the torque converter this time. He might get away with just an oil pump on the tranny, IF he finds all the pieces of the pump. And he probably won't.
