After everything else, if this isn't a good enough reason to tell Afghanistan to go piss down their own pants and pull our troops out...I don't know what is....

Can anyone even articulate why we are even there? And if you just say terrorists...there are more "terrorists" in any number of other nations on the planet that could kill us, than in Afghanistan...not the least of which...Pakistan and Iran, so that's going to be a pretty poor reason.

Convenient excuse in my book. He should've been an 'objective' while Powell was still a cabinet member.

IF we really believe the Taliban is so evil then evel an m-4 at him and say "You can join right now" otherwise we should leave Afghanistan.

I'm for removal of our troops but keeping an eye on the Taliban. From what I've read there is "valleyism" going on. Much like turf wars amongst gangs here in the US there are Valley communities that are united against the Taliban AND us because we've invaded their "turf". Some strategists have speculated that if we pulled out the valley communities will focus their fight on the Taliban.

Leaving Afghanistan is not "cutting and running" like so many right wingers have suggested. Eventually a the lines of the battlefield get so obscured that the fight becomes more trouble than its worth.

Not to mention all of our troops over there doing guard detail for Opium producers. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />

Oh..... and this country is in exponentially more danger of destruction from within. Terrorists could never hurt us the way we hurt ourselves.
