You should be able to do it without taking the whole thing apart, you'll probably end up having to break the 3 bolts off, but that's not a big deal since the new one should come with new bolts. I used a nut splitter to get the big nut off instead of busting my knuckles trying to loosen it, since you also replace it anyway. Did mine in a couple hours (at the most) still haven't gotten it aligned and it's driving fine.
