Pffft...Rancho, Skyjacker, ProComp, Bilstein...come on. Take it from someone who knows, and quit jerking around.
KYB Gas-A-Just.
Is there anyone on here who has had these shocks on their rig and found something they like better? And if there is, how many TIMES more did those cost? Not just an incremental cost; multiples of cost... I can't remember anyone saying they regret the choice.
And the AZ Crew doesn't mess around. Serious street time to get to the trails. Serious trail time over obstacles all day long. Rock crawling. Serious long-sustained high speed/high impact rally style trails.

Yeah, I have had a couple of sets of Gas adjusts, one on a Westfailia Vanagon and one on an Audi and yes, no complaints whatsoever, though for the record I allways thought the Bilsteins I put on my extra cab toy were too soft. I guess considering the KYBs not expensive they are a reasonable idea, though I?d like to hold off till my pennies accumulate for a complete revamp, GenII UCAs, torsions and springs, etc. BTW, a list member sent me a link to some pretty interesting coil overs recently (f-o-a.com), I think 160$ per unit (shock and spring), opinions???
Thanks

KYB gas-a-just is what I have. I've beat the hell out of my suspension and the KYBs take it like a champ.

Haha, count me in. Yesterday I got fed up and went into the local parts house and asked if they could get me some. They said "yeah we?ll check" and damn if the next day there wasnt four shiney gas a justs behind the counter just for me, felt like xmas. Was surprised that they are WAY firmer than the ones I put on my Vanagon so they should be great, and also way firmer than those grocery getting bilstiens I had (spooosh spoosh). Really these make Rancho 5000s feel like monroe squishamatics. Only down is I had to pay about 55$ each, but hell that included overnight air from Lima so I cant complain a bit. I?ll test em out a bit and post report in the AM

I am a huge fan of the KYB Monomax shocks...they are quite pricey but I love everything about them...and they should last a while.

I am a huge fan of the KYB Monomax shocks...they are quite pricey but I love everything about them...and they should last a while. Well, 4 new Gas a justs yesterday and after a couple of days of driving I have not one complaint about them. I was worried that with my stock suspension being so soft (needs new torsion bars) that they would be too soft, but not the case. They are super solid without being harsh, I was really pleasantly surprised. With you guys being able to pick them up for 33$ (amazon), it?s really a no brainer. I was planning on doing a major revamp, but I?m so happy with the results I think I will settle for new torsion bars and replace some front end components. Oh, yeah the Monomax, if the gas a j?s are any indication, they have got to be good.
