Need a Spot
Hey everyone. I have been skulking around the forums for about a month now. Finally got some decent pics, so I felt like showing the montero off.

I bought this 1991 Montero v6 LWB 170k from a good friend that took great care of it. He put a new motor (30k mile from fleabay) and clutch in it before he sold it off to me. Its got a few leaks coming from the oil pan but that will be addressed in a few weeks.

I have some major plans set for this rig. Full OME suspension, Rock sliders, body lift, 8000lb winch, roof basket, light, bumpers. maybe a 4bt cummins 4 cyl turbo diesel way down the road when this v6 kicks the bucket (no small undertaking).

Here it is: (pardon the bugs on the grill)

The carpet has been stripped out and a hard undercoating was sprayed in by the previous owner. Its a tad brittle but I like it.

Hope to meet some fellow monty drivers someday.

Wonder if anyone is from Oregon on here...

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Looks like a great start and in great condition. I'm a noob myself just getting mine 1 week ago. If you wait for the engine to die, it could be awhile. Mine is about to turn over at 300K. Welcome !

91 LWB 3.0 w/300K. Nothing fancy yet...still getting the quirks out and cosmetic fixes.

Welcome, and that's a nice rig. I don't have a Monty anymore, nor am I physically in OR, but I wear OR plates on my Trooper! It's nice to see another Oregonian on here.

Looks nice. Is that a factory roof rack? Never saw one on a Gen I before. If it is, its definitely not common. Looking forward to seeing the progression of mods and maybe seeing you on the trail one of these days. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Ray, I have a factory one on my truck. It looks a little different, but there could be myriad reasons for that.

Welcome to the Wire! Nice truck indeed.

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...
