Uhhh Hate to burst any bubbles, but those guns have serious mag problems. Don't drop a mag in the dirt... It won't work. Some pistol classes outright will not allow XD's in their classes because they do not work when you get them wet, and get dirt on them.

Trust me...If you are defending your life with a firearm... Drink the coolaide, and buy a glock.

I would never recommend a Sigma to even the guy using it to try to shoot at me. My friend bought a Sigma, and within 2 months of bi-weekly shooting the slide came off and knocked his ear protection off. That gun appears to be single action/double action and has a manual safety. These items are hard to get used to, even for an experienced shooter.

The double action is only on the first pull, then its single action from there on out, until the hammer is decocked. That means you have to get used to two different trigger pulls. The first pull will be hard then the 2nd pull will be lighter and if you don't practice a lot, the 2nd shot may got off sooner than you expected.

But with single action, sometimes the trigger is much lighter and shorter and can be good for greater accuracy.

The safety is something you have to remember to undo in a high stress situation and if you don't have muscle memory on the safety, it will likely stay on when you go to use it.

Something like the Glock or Springfield XD series for the same price would be far simplier and would be just as a good, or better. Glocks are basically the industry standard in this class of firearm as far as relatively cheap, but still high quality guns.

I would only buy this gun if you were used to this type of semi-auto mechanisms and safeties.

Same thing with the .40 caliber? We weren't exactly tossing stuff around that day (aside from jacketed lead downrange), so I didn't get a real idea of reliability. All I know is neither gun misfired with any of the 450-500 of my personal handloads + the 100 rounds of factory remans used.

Not trying to get in a pissing match, cause we are not the first one to have the conversation. but this was like 5 minutes of looking.

"I have shot the Glock 34 and a XD9 extensively. I ended up going with a XD9 because it seems to feel better in my hand. I also like the tuned trigger on the XD better then the tuned trigger on the Glock 34. While I think my XD is the right choice for me it is hard to say which is better for you. If you end up getting a Glock don't even think about competing without sending it to Charlie Vanek for his excellent trigger work. If you get a XD then Canyon Creek is your best bet for XD trigger work.

I went with a Dawson .10 front fiber optic sight as well. You will not be disappointed with this sight in even cloudy skies it is so bright it jumps out at you. Here is a link to my gun when it was all done. As soon as I started shooting this gun I bumped from a middle of the road D to a high C. I am training right now so that I can make the bump to B before next summer. Both guns are great I am sure you will be happy with either gun for me the XD was the way to go."

And when I search Springfield xd clip problems I came up with nothing. Not saying you are lying or anything, Just saying it must not be a big problem or you would not have to look long to find someone else with the same problem.

My opinion is shoot em and make up your own mind.

How long ago was that? The earlier gen models did have reliability issues but from what I have read they have made improvements sence. Idk

I will tell you that in my practical shooting group, 1 person shoots an XD, and about 25 shoot glocks, and about 5 people shoot 1911s. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I've got no XD hate personally... I own one.. I just know some of the shooting schools will not accept them when you go. The magazines do not feed when you get them dirty.

Also the finish on them SUCKS for real. The slides scratch easily, and my frame has had some surface rust problems.

Ill ask my bud what class he went to where they would not let him shoot his XD.

Real guns are made out of metal, as God and John Moses Browning intended them to be. This concept was amended to include alloy frames at a later date. Polymer was not included as it had not been invented then.

I bought a Sigma .40 a few years ago. I put around 1400-1500 rounds through it. I fired it in 100 degree heat, snow and rain. Not exactly a lot of rounds compared to some of you guys but bullets are expensive. I had zero problems. My bro has it now and he has fired a few hundred through it and no problems. I bought a S&W MP45 full size. I liked it, no problems only 200 or so rounds. I needed something to carry so I traded it for a pretty much new Sig P250 compact 9mm. Shot about 50 rounds and did not like the trigger at all. I traded that plus $100 for brand new Glock G36 sub compact .45 Slimline. The Glock is awesome. It shoots great. I can only imagine the full size 21 shoots even better. The only thing I dont like about the 21 is the grip is fat. I have not shot one though. I do plan on buying a Glock 19 or 17 sometime because 9mm is cheaper to shoot. I also want a G21 or 1911 or both because I like the .45. I also want an AR15, the Waffen Werks AK54r, and on and on.
