Have you driven on the road with a fully locked front end? The handling is worse than horrible. In rain or snow even a tight limited slip is not rear enjoyable experience up front.

Charlie, I'm going to very carefully disagree with you. I used my locked front end in the heavy snow on MN/ND roads for a week during my trip home at Christmas last year. While it took a little getting used to, I had no problems. In fact, I didn't take the truck out of 4WD again, until I hit dry pavement, after the locker helped me get out of a heavily rutted parking where my front diff was stuck on packed snow. Just my .02 after a very limited experience with it.
