I was not expecting a corvette!!!! lol anyway took it on a little trip today. 120 miles round trip. its running ALOT BETTER. its not high idling. but still running rich and crappy cold. but no where as bad as it was. starts right up cold and its 1100 rpms. but after two blocks its warm enough to drop to 750 rpms. and run semi normal. but it still runs rich even when at 180 degrees. smell it out of exhust. but at idle in gear when 180 degrees you cant even tell its running. it never moves off 180 + or -. 180 always. but I do have a bad gas leak. I filled it up last night and its pouring out of the fuel gauge sending unit next to the fuel pump. so thats my next task. the gauge dont work so Im going to get a new one. 70.00 oem. I hope it comes off easy. it should be an easy fix. I hope!!! lol so intill tomarrow

many thanks

You should have an access panel in the cargo area to get at the sender/pump plate. Use flare nut wrenches on the fuel line. Get a new gasket for the sender plate, and swap the fuel pump over to the new assy.

I think you have an injector stuck open. Check plugs for one that's sooty looking. Seafoam in the gas tank may help free it up, or a pint of acetone.

Sorry, not clear. The pump is mounted on the fuel level sender assembly, along with the fuel pickup. Clean the fuel pickup well, too.

The sender and pump make up the assembly that is removed as one after accessing the plate Eddy was referring to.

I think.

there is two plates on top of the tank when you take off the access plat in the floor. big round is the pump. and triangle shapped one is the fuel gauge sender. that what they showed when looking up the parts on....

https://www.mitsubishiparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html

its the triangle one that is leaking

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Loren,

let me know how the seafoam works in the tank. I have two middle plugs that are "sooty" or gunky.
