How much MPG's are getting you guys with your 1st Gen Monteros/Raiders (i4/four banger engine) ? According to fueleconomy.gov, the Raider/Montero renders a fuel economy of 15 mpg in city and 18 on highway, i imagine these facts are stated considering the vehicle is brand new, and based on the expected performance using american gasoline (which is far better than Mexico's). The thing is that i think my Raider is consuming a lot of fuel. Maybe i can figure out this if you guys tell me how is your fuel mileage in your vehicles. Any tips to improve fuel consuming?
Thanks in advance

I get a consistent 15 MPG in town and around 18-19 on the highway. My motor has 160k on it, but it is very well maintained.

I get around town, stopping every so often for gas as it needs it. I don't have this vehicle to worry about. MPG. It's a toy. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" /> The 35's have rendered the speedo fairly useless, but the 4 cylinder will push it to highway speeds.

Ricardus, how long has it been since you replaced your oxygen sensor? Whenever mine would go bad on my four cylinder Raider, the mileage would drop considerably. Try that first, if everything else has been maintained properly.

16.5mpg city, stop-and-go traffic less than 50mph 15mpg highway, 80+mph with the A/C on
I was getting 14-15mpg with 30psi in the tires, so I put 50psi in them and now I get 16-17mpg.

1989 V6 Raider here, I have 31" M/T's and a 2 inch lift and getting average around 15 mpg. Any of you guys posting have lifts or just running stock height? In my experience, a moderate lift and more aggressive tires will drop your mpg a good 2-3 mpg.

I deal in liters and Km here and fill up when she's about 3/4 empty.
Last time was 249.9km for 36.56L, I get that to 155.28 miles for 9.66 US gallons
= 16.07 mpg
Town driving, rarely into 3rd gear, even more rarely over 25 to 30 kph, braking/stopping every few hundred meters in utterly chaotic traffic.

I get a constant 20 mpg on a 145k mile engine. Get about 287 miles per tank.
