The pins are usually removed by inserting a very small pick and depressing the tang that keeps the connector from being pushed out. Some tangs are on top and some are on the bottom. The first one will take you a while but don't give up. After you get one out, you can see the tang and the rest are easy.

Another option is to get the connector from a salvage yard and just cut the wires as far back as you can get. Then you can just splice the wires together with but connectors or solder them.
