Yes I understand what you're saying. It doesn't matter what or where the crank pully is or says as long as its really at TDC. Tonight after work my friend and I are gonna try and re-time it agian, and I'm going to install a two way thermostat. As far as valve lash, I will check that too.

I was just hoping that the two large timing marks on the oil pump corresponded to the 5 and 0 beside them, that woulda made me laugh, and explained some things.
