I put the jumper in before I started the truck and set the timing to -5TDC and when I took that jumper off nothing happened? maybe this is my problem. I also think that when I'm going down the road, my timing isn't automatically advancing, i.e. the truck runs best at idle and not under load, sitting in the driveway and reving it up, it sounds like it wants to climb over my gargage, then soon as I go, its boggy and gutless, would that be the TPS as well causing it not to advance. I really appreciate the help guys.

Today I test drove a chevy and checked out a jeep, but i don't want that crap, I just want my 4Runner working right!

EDIT: it has got to be the TPS, What the heck else could it be. I will read up on adjusting it, but it is really complicated looking! Is toyota the only place I can buy one?
