Why, cuz it's fixed, or that you can't score parts?

PD- really, that's great ya got 'er squared away. If the idle wasn't going to behave, then I would've suggested checking the o-ring on the idle screw, as it'll act strange when those rot out.

Glowing exhaust, IIRC if it's too far advanced/running too rich, she'll glow.

Brake retrofit, check our Toyota section above first.

For the rear window, we have an FSM for an '85 in the sticky post here for your review.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
thanks for the support guys. Yeah missouri, it really was the TPS, after all the troubleshooting I had done, It kinda had to be. I put it on, adjusted idle screw, adjusted tps with multimeter, started it up, and it was a whole new beast. The timing plug actually idled it down, so I timed it, and adjusted the TPS with it running to find the sweet spot. I still don't have cold start though?

But the cam, ah the cam, I seriously can't believe how much power it adds to a stock engine, WOW, its never ran that good! Tons of power and acceleration, and in takeoff, it'll be easier on the clutch, cause i barely have to give it gas.

It really makes me wonder how good it would run with EB's RV freakn Head!? I'll be moving to Eugene soon so EB with practically be my neighbor (as oppossed to Wisconsin) and I might check on doing a 22re with all EB's goodies.

But I've found new love for the truck, I even redid the rear heater that I had bypassed due to it leaking. I put in rubber heater hoses instead of metal. Next is rear brake job (total) new windshield and some actual exaust (not barely there cat only lol) Its a bit rusty, I still owe you guys a pic!

Edit: kewlynx, idle screw? You mean the throttle stop screw? thats what I adjusted until it was up to 900rpm, them found the sweet spot on the TPS, what that wrong? Is there an actual idle screw? oh goodness

Double Edit: I found the idle screw, if it was any closer it would have bit me in the nose. I went back and adjusted everything, but in all honsesty , I think it was a little quicker off the line the way I had it with the throttle plate adjusted for the idle and the TPS diailed in while it was running.

The truck is running great, but when the heater is on, the engine temp spikes? Its blowing nice hot heat, what what would cause that?

The temp thing is broken or came off under the dash, so I have to manually close and open the valve under the hood.

Soon as I turn the heat off, engine temp goes right back down, and thermostat opens, but with heat on, thermostat seems to stay shut? Even with the two-stage?

Its a bummer I can't have heat up here in Wisconsin.

The heater return pipe flows warm coolant back into the system just before the thermostat. This gives the thermostat a false low temperature reference, and it opens later.

Body Damage is Cool
pull the heater hoses off at the firewall and backflush the heater core. Do this both ways, in and out of the core, refill system and make sure to purge all the air. Enjoy heat!
