I am very interested in your progress... I think since my Raider doesn't have its original engine I will go 3.5 when rebuild time comes.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
The engine mounts are about ready to be welded, I just wanted to quadruple check how things are lined up when I'm a bit less tired. Now that the engine is held rigidly side-to-side, it gives me a much better view of how things are shaping up...and the situation looks good.

I may have made the second cut to the oil pan a bit prematurely, but the engine may not be in it's final vertical position. And I know I need to allow for some sag from the rubber in the mounts once they're supporting the full weight of the engine.

To elaborate on some earlier transmission questions:

The G1 transmission/tcase, from bellhousing to output cup, is about 43-44 inches. (it was awkward to measure while in the truck)

The G2 Transmissionfercase, measured the same way, is 50 inches.

With the G1 setup, the distance from the output cup to the pinion is 23 inches. So, I assume with the G2 setup it would be about 16 inches, and at a much steeper angle.

That's incorrect. On premium, it's 700. It's only 675 on 87...

I used the search function to find that info, BTW.

I think he is referencing me grilling him on the 3.0 Raider on the for sale section where he said it had 200hp with diamante pistons.
