I bet with a little bit a fanagling of the Air box mounts you could get the box to work with the 3.5 hose.

I might have missed but did you relocate the battery for this to work out? Good job on the air box. The tube is not tobad you have many ways to tackle it but as a reminder you need to have a joint or some span of the tubing to be flexiable for the engine vibration. i would lob off the middle part of the rubber hosing and bend out some steel tubing and fit it into the rubber elbows You have left. good Luck with it.

I bet with a little bit a fanagling of the Air box mounts you could get the box to work with the 3.5 hose. Well, I kinda wanted to keep the airbox in the same location. It's out of the way where it is, and it saves me from having to reconfigure air box mounts, power steering reservoir location, and snorkel ducting. I've been trying to find a way to use the existing hose, but the main problem is the 45deg bend straight out of the MAF. If I could find a short straight section that couples to the MAF it would really simplify things...though it seems in pretty much every vehicle with that MAF, there is an immediate angle coming out of the sensor. I've checked CAPS, and also just got back from a pull-a-part brainstorming session. The other complication is that the diameter of the throttle body is 2.75", and the MAF is basically a squashed 3.75" diameter. That kinda puts them right between two common sizes, and really limits my selection of fittings. I may just have to use 3" and 4" fittings, and just wrap the sensor and throttle body with something to tighten things up. There's plenty of fittings in those dimensions. Hmmmm...yeah, I think I'll try to do that. I might have missed but did you relocate the battery for this to work out? Good catch...Yeah, it became pretty obvious to me pretty early on that there wouldn't really be a great way to keep a battery under the hood. So, I'm going to just relocate it...somewhere. I'm considering behind the seats, but I'm still looking at what my options might be. Also along the same lines, I'm going to try to locate the Power Distribution Center (The underhood box with the fuses and relays) behind the seat as well. The old battery position still is a nice perch for something...compressor maybe?

I'm considering behind the seats, but I'm still looking at what my options might be. Also along the same lines, I'm going to try to locate the Power Distribution Center (The underhood box with the fuses and relays) behind the seat as well. Have a look at the Gen II.5 Amp location. It's behind the rear seat. I would think this would solve the battery location and it's deep enough for a battery. You may have to get creative in you battery selection though.

Yeah thats an idea cut out a box in the floor and put the battery and electricals in there then route them to the engine bay. You could also gut out one of those storage boxes in the rear and make it into a battery tray area. If you did not put so much work into getting the gen 2 dash in I would suggest building something in the glove box area so you are not having to run your wires so far out. With your creativeness on this project so far I bet you will figure out something.
In the space you have that would make a great spot for onboard air set up.

The MAF coupling was 1/4" undersized, so it was a bit of a stretch fit. The throttle body coupling is 1/4" oversized, so I still need to find something to take up the gap.
