BTW, there are solutions to making the human waste "dumpster safe".
I have tried them; actually, I use them.
John, could you please share your approach with us ? I noticed that there are lots of places around (for example, Lake Powell) having the same requirement. I am very interested from the technical point of view.

Check: http://www.amazon.com/The-PETT%C2%99-Portable-Environmental-Toilet/dp/B001CWAIJIThat is the portable "toilet". However, one critical component is the enzyme that is used to render human waste to dumpster safe. Rubicon Trail Foundation and California OHMVR began experimenting with that system several years ago. If you talk to the FOTR/RTF folks at the kiosks, they will recommend the package enzyme as the "best" solution. You do not need the above noted toilet. A 5-gal home brew bucket will work. You can buy the enzyme packs at most of the major sporting goods stores. I have seen them at Bass Pro Shop, Cabelas, and Big 5. For more information, see: http://www.gocleanwaste.com/products

The enzyme/one use bags look like a good idea. A pack of these should be going into my "bug out bag". If worried about storage, one could use a well sealed ammo box if space is a problem. The $3.25 per use is not bad at all if it keeps access open. The work side of my brain still thinks there could be problems if people dump the bags into pit toilets. People do seem to be able to screw up the best ideas.
Back on topic. If this works out, I can time myself to be in the area early on Friday. Stake a claim on a choice camp spot.

How about the weekend of the 31st? I make a motion that we follow Russell's plan OK hows this sound. Looks like we go up Fri nite and stay in the Corral Hollow area Then in the AM go do Slick Rock and Deer valley then camp for the Nite and head out to do Strawberry and the head down the hill.
Anyone second the motion?

Kirk... Thanks for picking up this ball and running with it. I've been a bit busy with stuff.
A run on the weekend of the 31st sounds good to me. I'm up for the trip as outlined by Russell although as I noted, Corral Hollow sounds a bit easier than I'm interested in.
I'll probably head up early friday afternoon to avoid the traffic.
My rock skids are on and "hopefully" ready for action. I just wish I had time and resources to reinforce the skid plates but I'm sure I'll be fine even with the stock ones. If anything, I may need to buy another virgin set from Bob/Sewerrat or a salvage yard to re-enforce.
Who can't make it?

I'd probably drive up late afternoon Friday. Corral Hollow is fine with me or not. I'm really only interested in camping out Friday night so we can get an early start Saturday Morning.

I can make it up there early saturday morning. Then maybe stay the night, but that is a big maybe as my sons 4th b-day party will be on sunday.
Off-roader, I have a box of small gussets in my garage if you want to grab a few before the trip and weld them on. I am only 20 minutes from you.
