S->N sounds good to me. My preference would be to start a little earlier if we can, say 9-9:30, at the Slick Rock trail head.

What does everyone else think? Cameron? Bob?

My end goal is to set up my tent in the sun light on Saturday. I don't like setting up camp in the dark.

Whatever works, is fine with me. Still thinking about fire/stove permits. If fires are ok, I'll pick up a box of wood. I think there is a forest service office on the way that will set out permits for pick up after closing time. I prefer to have cooked food, hot coffee.
By the way, is there going to be drinking of adult beverages after the days events. I won't bring "supplies" if I'm the only one who is going to enjoy.
I'll be off line after tonight. Ray, give me a call Friday afternoon if we don't have a firm meet up spot late tonight.

Ok sounds like we are set for 9-930 at the Slickrock trailhead S-N (Spicer Reservoir Road). I'll have the CB set to lucky number 7!

Unfortunately I didn't make this trip due to a minor med. emergency. Ok now but can't go up this weekend. Maybe next time.

Back from the trip and had a great time!! Kirk and Bob are camping tonight and not sure of their plan tomorrow but all is well with them. We only did Slickrock today, it is more difficult than I remember. To start out I tried a pretty gnarly climb at the very beginning after the bridge. After my third attempt the rig wanted to flop on its side. Luckily Bob is quicker than he looks and jumped on the front corner so I only did a two wheel stance until Kirk pulled me out. Then we ran into a little trail congestion, not bad, but a little time consuming. Bob was a super driver with his 31's and really finessed a lot of obstacles. Just don't ask about his dented fender, door and missing moulding. Kirk did great as well, his only hang up was a tire that got gravel in the bead and didn't want to stay aired up. The only other problem for Kirk was a bent panhard rod. No damage for me, I had no skid plates prior to this trip, but stayed up late on friday and added them from the parts car. I saw they all have new dents in them so they did their job. Those are the highlights, the weather was great, we stopped and had lunch by the river and just relaxed. It was already getting late and we didn't want to rush to do Deer Valley and get caught on the trail too late. Pics here http://s486.photobucket.com/albums/rr221/camifa00/Slick%20Rock%207-31-10/

This was my first offroad trip with the Montero. It needs a heavy bumper and winch in front to anchor it down and I definitely need better shocks. All in all though it did real well.
