Need a Spot
I have a 91 v6 LWB. My oil pan is leaking quite heavily due to the previous owner not knowing what he was doing.

Is there any way I can remove the oil pan to replace the gasket without lifting the engine?

Thanks all

~JM

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm not sure about the Gen II, but in my Gen III you can get to it from the bottom. It's a pretty involved project.

You have to drop the front diff. to get at it, but that's much easier than pulling the engine.

Good Luck

I have a gen I... couldn't figure a way to do it without pulling the engine or dropping the front axle. Good luck!

I think willwinchforfood and I got his off by dropping the front diff carrier on one end and the crossmember. Had to fish it a little, but it came out fine, until I twisted the head off one of those dinky little pan bolts...

If you don't have access to an engine hoist, then dropping the front carrier is the only way. If you do have access to one, lifting is the way to go. It can be done either way, but IMHO lifting is the easier of the two.

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...
