Getting the Wheeling Fever
I knew a 21 year old vehicle was going to need a few things. There is an issue with idle. when I first start the car cold it will idle high 1400-1800 rpm. After it warms up it will idle very low 300-500 rpm and will cut out some times. I did some searching and I would suspect the idle speed control servo. any suggestions?

Probably. Check out dsmisc.com for a decent price on the improved isc.

it's not real clear on dsmisc.com's website which one fits my car.

call/email them and see what they say. IIRC, it's the 3.0 stealth model.

I got my lastest ICS from NAPA for like $110. It's the improved plastic one and may even be a repacked OEM <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

before purchasing extras I would check for
vacuum leaks
good connection on the coolant temp sensor
proper adjustment of the tps
clean connections on the Idle stepper motor

vacuum leaks-would cause high, not low, idle speed

good connection on the coolant temp sensor-base idle speed is too low as it is, and should be reset to about 650rpms with the isc disco'ed

proper adjustment of the tps-should make no diff except for the idle position switch, if any

clean connections on the Idle stepper motor-this is a maybe, but not as likely as the fried isc. I'd do the resistance tests before I bought a new one just in case

Need a Spot
i have a recently revived 91 3.0 LWB that i got an emission waiver sticker for this year in PA, but it idles high all the time, and the local chain shop couldn't figure out how to adjust it...plus the exhuast emissions are noxious, and will make me sick if i drive it for extended periods of time. tips? are the two related?
