Need a Spot
We have a '86 EFI truck going carb and getting concerned about the factory wiring harness...listed are the areas that seem to have potential problems;

1.) Ignition coil (can I keep or have to replace with carb. type)
2.) Elec. Choke (is there a wire than can be used off the factory harness that works in the same manner ex: as the engine temp. rises, the choke opens)
3.) Fuel pump (truck has in-tank elec. fuel pump that does not work, we are going mechanical and wondering if the pump will pick up fuel with the factory fuel pump remaining in the tank, or will we have to buy the mechanical fuel pump pickup?)
4.) ECU/ECM (will all factory computers have to remain plugged in to allow all elec. functions to opperate correctly, or can they be unplugged and removed?)
5.) Would it simply be wise to buy the factory harness for a carbed '86...lol

P.S. We do not have the factory throttle body/intake manifold so recommending to stay EFI isnt possible smile

Plus, we are a bunch of carb heads anyhow haha

Thanks...

Don't keep us in the dark! Tell how you dealt with the wiring and the ECU & stuff. -- Matt
