I doubt a fly swatter would work on them biguns up there.. But there is a new type repellant that does work. I can't think of the name right now but I betcha it is all over the place up there. It isn't the deet that is in most repellants.
Without the bugs that is really an interesting place to be in the summer. I've seen it snow up there July 4th. Just flakes but snow never the less.
Of course I was a single guy at the time. I learned to water ski on the Schroon Lake. Ya had to ski cause the water was too cold to fall into.
