A 1992 MB 600SEL V12, 402HP engine, shoved into a SWB with an M112 blower would just be silly:

The thought of it makes my blood pressure climb into the danger zone.

It says to forget about it. The width would work, but the length and height would require a remake of the front end. I don't think the AW372 transmission would hold it - a Brabus TT version of that engine made ~640HP and ~760lb-ft of torque.

How 'bout installing it backwards behind the front seats as a mid-engine with a marine V-drive and chop the top for a rock buggy? Or maybe put a transfer case on the mid-engine installation that would make it FWD in 2WD mode and bring in the rear wheels off the t-case for 4WD?

Dry sump it and mount it vertical with a dual pinion right angle drive to the tranny...

Put a flywheel and tranny on each end of the crank of the mid mounted motor with one counter gear to correct rotation.

Not responsible for advice not taken...

I would go with supercharging a 3.0 V6 to get the same HP without the packaging problems...
