It really all depends on what area your in. Look on craigslist to see what other 85's are going for. They are a little more common than you might think.

I'm in wisconsin. There aren't any '85s on craigslist in the whole state that I could find. I could only find one on auto trader and none on 4runnertrader.com. I don't even know a good starting point. I don't wana give it away, but also don't wana ask too much and get no calls. Whats a good starting point, price-wise?

Actually, a good starting point is to get under the truck with a BFH and find out what kind of shape the frame is in, and whether you can get the spare tire down.
You're back East in the rust belt, which would turn someone like me away, so best to know EXACTLY what kind of shape she's in to put out there for prospective buyers.

Yea, depends on the condition. I see you have it on craigslist already for prices in all areas, go to www.craiglook.com and type in 1985 4runner in the search.

I didn't know you could search craigslist so generally, but yeah the frame is still really good. it still has the rubber inserts in it all around and it was undercoated a while ago, a nice job, and after ten years its just starting to peel off, so the frame is better than the body, really
Edit: wow thanks adam, that craigs site is super cool! Its awesome mine is on there! I think my ad is at least more honest and explanatory that all of the other ones, and I would say that my price is on par with the rest of them, there are a couple that sound like better bodies, with same price, but no pics. if someone is interested and wants specific pics, I'll getem for ya. thanks
