i've got 89 yj with a bad frame i found a 76 cj7 it looks different but the seller said it would work dose anyone know for sure

It's substantially different. If you're a good fabricator you can probably make it work...
91 YJ 2 Seater Sand Rail Handfull of other fun toys... And a brand new, spit shined, B.S. Oh, and a job to boot.

CJ7 frames are weak junk compared to a YJ frame. Mounting points for everything are different. Don't do it.

You need another YJ frame!
If you find one, make sure it matches the engine you have in your '89. Six cylinder frames are different than four cylinder frames, the engine mount brackets are welded to the frame in different spots. '87-'95 are the years that will fit.
