The trucking company in question is the good one. They aren't particularly friendly to felons (or illegal immigrants).

As far as being away, it shouldn't really be a problem. We've been there before. When I first started working in CA, I left Teri and the boys (there were only 2 then) in Oregon while I got established at work, then they moved down. After we got all moved, they pretty much never saw me. I'd be home 6-8 hours to sleep, then back to work. On the weekends I'd sleep till noon.

When I drove to Oregon and had the headgasket fiasco, well... She came up with the kids, but that was after over a week of me being up there with her family

Out for a week at a time shouldn't be a big deal. Teri is really good at adapting and making the best of whatever we have to deal with.

As far as the public utility option; It's not really an option yet. Just an opportunity to take a couple tests. If they're doing preference points for military experience like the postal dis-service does, I don't have a snowball's chance in Hell. Last time I took one of those, I got 98% and was aced out by a veteran who got 106%

We'll have to see. At least I know I have work coming
