Few years ago slammed into a diversion bar, The resulting air time plus shaved bump stops popped the drivers side CV axle out of the housing. It wasn't for a wile that I though of checking things out. The CV shaft had reamed out the race that it rides on. Tiered of replacing the seal and topping off fluid all the time. I don't know if the worn part is part of the carrier or further out. So I though it would be easier to just swap out a whole axle.
