So is that open to anyone? It's in VA, right? I'd really like to enter that with my brothers (before we're too old - if we're not already).

Surprised nobody used a Kettcar... The older ones had hard plastic tires. That Kettler car looks like the way to go. The guy I work with is really bent on taking the guy with the Barbie Jeep down. The Barbie Jeep won again this year. I'll see if I can talk him into looking at a Kettcar and see if he can actually find one that will meet the requirements. Knowing him, if it costs more than $20, he doesn't want to spend the money. The faster you want to go, the more it costs! He actually fond out how they are lasting though 2 heats, bearings in the wheels! As long as the wheels are plastic, you can mod it with bearings. He found out that the little VW that he had, the wheels had melted and were loose on the axles by the end of the second run. He just did make it across the finish line when it stopped rolling! One other thing is you cannot purposely weight the vehicle of choice to gain an advantage.

As far as I know it is open and not to just the residents of the subdivision. My co-worker doesn't live there and he raced this year. I am waiting for the video! The place is just east of Harrisonburg, off of route 33 at Crossroads Farms Subdivision. As far as being too old, I'm there and I don't heal like I used to and broken bones are not something I look forward to. It would be just my luck to break something. However, most people come away with bruises and scrapes from the pavement. Did I mention I don't heal like I used to? Even my wife thinks I should not even think about doing this, but I am tempted to try it just once!

C'mon now Bill, if I intentionally trespass to climb a 100ft tower to enjoy the view simply because I can, goferit.

We've got a spot that would be perfect for a rally; too bad it's not paved.

I may, it might involve finding the time to get the toy and modify it to work to carry my weight and make it for 2 runs and not end up looking like this We've got a spot that would be perfect for a rally; too bad it's not paved. So change the rules to suit the conditions or use rubber tires. My first concern would be to make sure that you have fun doing it and no one gets hurt in the process, but what fun would that be?

The fun would be telling the snobs on the hill to get bent; we're doin' it anyway.
Might be fun on dead ATV's the mushers use for summer dog team training!
It wouldn't be the first time I've hurt myself, swore, then laffed about it!!

This reminds me of myself and 3 friends talking ourselves into being the first to jump off the 70" limestone cliffs into Lake Wilson on the TN river that nobody had ever been fool enough to jump off of before...
I broke 2 ribs, Bruce Aune split the bottom of both feet open, Tommy Schuessler hit with his legs apart and smashed the old family jewels and dislocated his hip joint, and crazy Les was flat on his back 10' off the water, and somehow was the only one unhurt. Everybody got hydrolock of the sinuses. Climbing back into the 14' Glaspar was the worst...
This particular bluff has been known as Fool's Bluff ever since, can't imagine why. Two months later we tried it again. All wearing catcher's cups, and shoes, with ankles crossed and locked, and arms crossed across chest with hands locked in armpits.
And hot beer is not a good pain killer, no matter what quantity...
Not responsible for advice not taken...
