Guys,
There's a lot of crap on the market these days boasting better gas mileage, but I have modded my truck and have improved my mileage by about 2 mpg.
I've always noticed that my hood flutters (yes, I've siliconed the support ribs) when I meet a semi going the other direction. I've also always noticed that the front end seemed to sit higher than the back. I started lowering my front end a couple of months ago by loosening the torsion adjuster bolts about four turns at a time. In total, I've dropped the front about 2 to 3 inches. I always reset my trip meter when I fill up and calculate my MPG. The last five or six fill ups have shown very close to 20 mpg. I check my tire pressure monthly as well and usually run 32 front and 30 rear unless I'm hauling something.
The truck doesn't look as tough, but it really has made a difference. It's even taken away the flutter I see when I pass a big truck so I know it's made a difference in wind resistance.
Just thought I'd share. Let me know if any of try it and how it works out for you.
