This is what I've been working on while I wait on getting my engine back...

I first made a template of the Gen 1 dash. The template got things started, but there were still a lot of test fits and adjustments. Mostly, material just had to be removed from the front edge, due to the fact that the Gen 2 has a more curved windshield than the Gen 1. The overall dash widths are basically the same.

There's been additional material removed since this picture was taken.

Installing the mounts was fairly easy. I cut the welds on the ends of the main support tube so that the tube ends could slide in and out. Then I bolted the support tube into the dash, got things in position, and tack welded.

The steering wheel support is half Gen 1(to mount to the firewall and support the brake pedal), and half Gen 2(to mount to the support bar, and hang the steering column)
I'll take some detail pictures of the mounts once I take the dash out again.

I'm still using the Gen 1 climate hardware, but I hope to use the Gen 2 dash controls...I haven't actually checked to see if that is really possible yet. The ductwork aspect is going to be "interesting" too, but I've got some idea how I might try to go about that.
