It's going pretty well, completing all the wiring is the main holdup on getting the dash all buttoned up...it's not giving me any particular problems, it just comes down to competing priorities. Getting the steering column modified was a big step...it required more tweaking than I expected.



The leather covering on the steering wheel was worn, so I just cut it off. I'll either re-cover it, or dye it to match. I do intend to paint/dye everything before the final reassembly.




Here is the "interface" between the G2 dash and the G1 center console.



For now I'll probably just cut a section out of the spare Gen 2 console to make a clean transition to the old center console.




One of the next biggest steps is to get all the climate control features figured out. Electrically it shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure how everything will work out with the push-pull cables, though I have compared the G1 sliders to the G2 knobs and all the functions are in the same order...so I'm optimistic. I'm sure the actual routing of the ductwork will be "interesting", but I'll figure it out...
