Well.. FWIW, IMHO, these 36's are getting twards the limit of what I would call daily driver suitable for MY Gen1 SWB. I can get on the interstate, and climb hills just fine, but I don't know if it could handle 37's. AND I'm running a more powerful engine with better gearing in the trans, and transfer case. Offroad, everything is fine.

I guess if I had v-8 power it might be dooable. My truck does not feel tippy or dangerous... Just a TAD underpowered.

With 31's my big raider will SMOKE the tires down in 2wd, and do some SERIOUS holeshot action in 4hi. I should put some ET Streets on, and run it down the dragstrip one day.

Diesel rig is down for a week or so. I installed the OEM air filter housing that I got from the UK, and I'm waiting on the filter for that. I cleaned some more wiring up, and changed the oil / filter.

I need to get the correct firewall and core support brackets to attach the intercooler frame to the truck. I've got the hoses, frame, and IC... Just need to attach it somehow. Then... It's hole in the hood time. smile

I had custom AC hoses made up to be able to use an OEM compressor, but the compressor on this motor is locked up.... SOOOOO I'm shopping for another compressor... When that gets in, itll be AC time.

After I get the IC put on, and AC working, and all the little issues sorted out, I'm going to start shopping for WVO things, and then put on some 32's, and repaint it.

Remember, no lift yet.

Try to tip it over now
The tires rub and can't move on the front. They wouldn't fit on the back. I'm looking at cut fenders and smoothed inner fenders, 1.5" front lift/2" rear shackle, 2" body lift.

I might try racing the stock class at RYC? I'm sure I can beat a jeep...

Just an FYI I never trimmed for 35s, just lift.
For a gen I V6, 35s are definately max with lift, 5:29s and t/case gears. If you wheel it, you will break some stuff as well. Gen II with DOHC gives you some more power and drivetrain strength to go larger without serious breakage.

I agree with you on 35s on the rocks, but down here the terrain is a lot more forgiving. I doubt anything will break even with the 4cyl axles, but I have V6 axles waiting if they do. I'm a light footed driver though too. I hope these boggers will help me out, the BFG A/Ts don't bite good enough with the kind of power/speeds I have. I don't need the low gears or 5.29s, it won't be a highway vehicle

I'm hoping to keep it as low as possible. There is plenty to cut in front and back of each tire, but the top is whats limiting me right now. I'll have to go stuff the front tires and estimate how much to cut for the 38.5s...
