Alright just graduated and the old man gave me the choice of $300 or a roof rack for my 89 SWB. Of course i took the rack . The only question is, is do i get a full rack for the whole roof or a half rack that just covers the lifted part of the roof and stops at the Lip on the rood. I already have 4, 4.5 in hellas on a light bar in the front so top lights have been covered. So ill ask the opinion of the wire. Should i do a full rack or have Rack. chime in with any pros or cons thanks!!

THis is my Current lighting situation so i plan on putting the rack right behind the light bar.

Congratulations on the graduation. Cool paint scheme you got going there. Is it an automatic or a five-speed stick?

Go full rack.

half rack looks best in my opinion, If you look through our picture thread in the Az crew forum you'll see what it looks like on gen 1's there are pics in there of both full and half.

It depends if you're reaching around or not,

Peronally I'd take whatever's functional. I ran a two bar setup with bike racks for my mountain bike. Then graduated to a kayak and bike combination.

I stuffed a spare tire between the two bike racks when I had that.

Here's the factory half rack [Linked Image]

He might sell it because i'm chopping his roof off next weekend, not 100% on that though because he does have other monteros.

Yeah Kevin, you're always posing with your fancy half rack. Why don't you go throw a tupperware party and drink some bud light ya wuss.

Obviously, you can do more with a full rack, and they walk lopsided with a half rack...

I like the full size rack, the one I have is to wide for my taste.
