New front brakes!

Thanks to some lucky salvage from dannytuned last year, I finally got to hold my head above the academic waters long enough to throw these bad boys on:

Passenger side caliper assembly.

This is roughly the amount of backing plate that had to be sheared off to accommodate the larger caliper assemblies. Tin snips worked just fine, but in a perfect world, I'd rather have taken them off to trim them.

Just for the background, these are the brake calipers off of dannytuned's old 2001 Montero Sport front end.

2hrs to swap on a muggy hot day in the direct sun. They were a little soft on the first test drive, but a few stomps later they had settled in just fine. I'm guessing they'll get even better with a little more time. This is the first time I've driven the truck since early March. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

It feels good to get some wrenching time in. It's been almost a year since I've done anything of value on this truck.
